The standout news is the return of Abdukodir Khusanov. Guardiola confirmed that the Uzbek defender is now ready to make his comeback, saying the centre-back is fit enough to “play a few minutes.” His inclusion, even from the bench, would be a welcome boost to City’s defensive options as fixtures begin to pile up.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland is being monitored after picking up a knock during Sunday’s loss to Aston Villa. Guardiola explained, “It was a knock and I think day-by-day he's getting better.
