Pep Guardiola provided several key updates in his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester City’s FA Cup clash with Swansea, hinting at a rotated lineup with opportunities for youth and returning players.
The standout news is the return of Abdukodir Khusanov. Guardiola confirmed that the Uzbek defender is now ready to make his comeback, saying the centre-back is fit enough to “play a few minutes.” His inclusion, even from the bench, would be a welcome boost to City’s defensive options as fixtures begin to pile up.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland is being monitored after picking up a knock during Sunday’s loss to Aston Villa. Guardiola explained, “It was a knock and I think day-by-day he's getting better. But now we train this afternoon and we’ll know more exactly how he feels.” With the Norwegian striker unlikely to be risked from the start, academy forward Divine Mukasa is likely to be handed a rare opportunity to lead the line. The 18-year-old has impressed in youth competitions this season.
Elsewhere, Rodri remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a hamstring issue. Guardiola noted that the midfielder is “getting better, training with us partially,” but admitted that caution is being taken after “what happened two times, prior incidents in muscular.”
